What is a Secondary Market ?

A Secondary Market concerns itself with transactions on financial instruments that are freely available after they were floated via the Primary Market.

For example, Uber Technologies Inc. recently carried out an Initial Public Offering via the Primary Market. After that process was completed, the shareholders had to sell or buy them now from the Secondary Market via Stock Exchanges.
